These one-of-a-kind earrings are made with real butterfly wings, carefully preserved beneath layers of clear resin and finished with a copper electroformed edge. Each wing retains its natural pattern, delicate veining and subtle variations, so no two pairs will ever be exactly alike.
The copper brings an earthy, elemental quality to the wings, while the translucent resin allows their natural colors and intricate patterns to catch the light as they move.
I love the contrast of something so delicate and ephemeral surrounded by copper. There’s something really beautiful about taking a piece of nature that existed for such a short time and giving it another life as wearable art.
Each pair is handmade by me, from preserving the wings to building the copper finish and assembling the final earrings.
