Our Story

 

Hi and Welcome to our little corner of the World! I am so happy you have found us! My name is Anna, the owner and creator of Great Lakes Goddess. I started Great Lakes Goddess in March of 2018. I was previously in business with my step dad doing similar work but decided to go on my own path and re brand to a vision I could connect with on a deeper level and develop a brand I could grow! I wanted a place to connect my love for nature, sisterhood, art and creation in one place. That is when Great Lakes Goddess was born.

 

Even though GLG is primarily ran by me it is truly a family business. My husband and mom are regulars in the studio helping with making coasters, grinding stones and shipping orders. My step dad Scott will chip away at orders from time to time too along with numerous other friends and family who lend a hand finding, sorting and cutting rocks as needed. There is so much work that goes into every step of the work we do and it is fun to do it beside your favorite people! 

 

My goal with GLG is to design nature inspired jewelry, home decor, apparel and other creations that show off the beauty and rawness of our Great Lakes Region. I also donate a portion of my profits to various organizations who are dedicated to making a stand in preserving our sacred lakes. Having lived in Michigan my whole life and played on the shores of many of the Great Lakes I have a deep love and passion for this region and hope that this same love will be shared for many generations to come. 

 

I create jewelry and home decor you can feel good about owning, not just because it is one of a kind and beautiful but also because its purchase helped to make a difference around our region.

 

I ethically source all of the stones myself thru countless hours of beach combing and walking gravel roads in the rain. I have a passion for the Earth and how it was formed. Rocks are evidence of this formation and each tells its own story if you listen.
